Bash/Booster Update:

 

We are combining the two meetings this month in the hopes of having a great turnout, quick recap of marching season, discuss plans for the remainder of the year, begin thinking ahead to the next school year (already!!) and then move on to the Bash.  We will once again offer a door prize to entice parents to attend.

 

 Band’s Big Beach Bash Update:

 

Now that marching season is over, it is time to concentrate on the Bash & Silent Auction – the largest fundraiser we have planned for the band programs. Mark your calendars for Feb. 20, 2009 at the Island Event Center from 6:30 – 11. Each band family receives 2 tickets to attend, and this year we have introduced the option to purchase an entire table for 8 for $150. This will enable you to sponsor a table and invite neighbors, friends and co-workers. This adult only party includes dinner, dessert, and a fun night out! The Silent Auction is the moneymaker of this event. We have a small committee of 2…..yes only 2…. who are obtaining auction items, so we rely on YOU, the band families to contribute the majority of items for this fabulous Auction. Each band family is asked to donate one or more items – this could be a gift certificate from your favorite restaurant, business or golf course, artwork that you create, a dinner that you cook and deliver, a re-gift item (we all have those lying around) or a basket you put together. A list of auction item donation ideas, a letter you can give to a business owner with info on our event and the donation form for you to fill out for each donation is on the band website linked to the Bash page. Last year we raised $10,027 in the Live and Silent Auction and we hope to do better this year. With the holidays approaching, please consider turning in your donations now if possible – if not, our deadline is January 31, 2009……..so please start planning now for your donation. Our next Bash meeting will be on November 18, check the website for details. We look forward to meeting some new parents who have some time to spare or ideas to share. Trip Insurance now available

Because of the economy and people not being sure if they can afford travel or not, Celestial's insurance is offering a cancel for any reason policy...as well as the regular trip insurance. This policy may also help those who are not sure if their kiddos will be eligible due to grades The FINAL DATE for signing up for this insurance is NOVEMBER 20th. All the information is on celestial's website. The sign up HAS TO BE DONE through CELESTIAL (not through the school) and is paid with credit card only. The form can be faxed or mailed to Celestial.
