Early Shift

Start of Shift

  1. Enter time information for early shift on daily inventory sheet.

  2. Fill and plug in hot water dispenser.

  3. Wipe down counters – they get dusty overnight

  4. Check to make sure everything is well stocked.

  5. Open the window – don’t open it until you are ready to handle customers!

During Shift

  • Police the snack area around the Snack Shack at least once an hour – pick up trash.

  • Keep the customer counter clean – wipe it down often.

  • WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN – especially after using the restroom!

  • Keep refrigerated items filled (beverages), place new items to the back of each section so the cold ones are in front.  DO NOT wait until the item is depleted (please open soda boxes by the “fridgemate” opening only).

  • Refill hot water dispenser as needed – do not allow it to drop below ½ full unless it is the final hour of the shift.

  • Wipe out the microwaves as needed.

End of Shift

    1. Review inventory for any potential outages for the next shift – note on daily inventory sheet.  Call manager with any immediate inventory needs.

    2. Break down empty boxes and set them aside for recycling pick-up.

    3. Police the snack area around the Snack Shack at the end of your shift – pick up trash.

Don’t Forget

  • Workers are allowed up to $5 in free product (including drinks) per shift.  BE SURE to note the items on the daily inventory sheet under the staff food column.  If you don’t use all the $5, you cannot take the rest home at the end of your shift.

  • Occasionally, an item may be damaged “out of box.”  When that happens, we can’t sell the item, so staff is allowed to eat it but it must be noted on the daily inventory sheet under the Damaged Items column.

  • Do NOT give any food or drinks to lifeguards or other staff – they must pay for their orders.  LIFEGUARDS  GET WATER FOR 50 CENTS.

  • Do NOT give “change” to customers without a purchase.

  • No visitors are allowed inside the Snack Shack.

  • Keep the Snack Shack door locked.

  • Radios are OK for use but should not be so loud that you can’t communicate with customers easily – any complaints and they will not be allowed at all.

  • Do not use headphones when customers are present.

  • Do not use cell phones when customers are present.

  • If the pool is closing due to bad weather, contact the Snack Shack Manager immediately.
